About Us

We are so grateful for the work that our volunteers undertake for us on a daily basis. If you want to become a volunteer at the Teesside & District Society for the Blind, then we have a number of roles available, from minibus drivers and home visitors to gardeners and admin helpers. We are always looking out for new volunteers and have a variety of roles available:

Centre Helpers - Helping out in the Social Centre


Home Visitors - Visiting service users in their home


Shopping Escorts - Collecting a service user and taking them shopping


Bus Escorts - Helping service users on and off our transport safely


Minibus Drivers - Collecting and returning service users from their homes to our centre



Gardening - Helping keep Society Sensory Garden neat and tidy


Admin Helpers - Assisting with filing and photocopying

Other ways to help Volunteering

Besides volunteering for one of our roles at Teesside, you can help by: giving donations, Gift Aid, becoming a Friend of the Society, by holding Fundraising Activities (coffee morning, fun run, etc), or by leaving a legacy in your will.
